Rare 1892 John Deere Pocket Ledger Plows Buggies OrigGet your christmas shopping done early! Up for auction is a piece you may not see again! Up for auction is an original 1892 john deere farmer's pocket ledger or pocket companion compliments fo mansur & tebbetts implement co, general agents john deere plows and cultivators, st. Louis mo and dallas tx with a stamp from red bud, ill on teh last inside page. That's right, 116 years young and it's complete! I'm sure you know these early pocket companions, as they were then called, are extremely rare and rarely come up for sale. Inside its 42 pages (including covers) is, of course, an 1892 calendar and lithographs of various equipment offered steel beam plow, wood beam plows, sulky, farm wagons, harrows, diggers, prairie breaker, cultivators, hay loader, gang plow, hay rake, corn planter, cotton planter, buggy, surrey, phaeton, seeder, grain drills, and lots more. Since deere wasn't in tractor business, they sold the c. Aultman & co.
Steam traction enigne and thresher. It's all inside! As for condition, the back cover is soiled and has water stains. The last couple pages have some water marks as well, the others only a bit on the bottom of the pages see pictures below. There's a very little bit of bug damage on the first inside page, and there's some stick people drawn in pencil with four pieces of equipment (19th century humor!
) again see pictures. No other writing inside. Much of this could be cleaned by a trained professional. While taking the pictures, the covers came off of the staples, so each is now loose.
It displays extremely well, and nothing can really detract from this great content! I really hate to sell this one, because i know i'll never be able to replace it, so i hope it finds a good home and fills a hole in someone's collection. Don't imss your chance to own a genuine john deere ledger from the 1800's! Starts low and sells with no reserve~.
